Now after completing the B.Arch Degree, the students shall not get themselves registered in the Council now. They will have to undergo the training of two years with the Architects after they have cleared the Written exam and Interview held by the same council.

After this training the students shall be registered as Architect. So to clear the Professional Exam is must.

Mr Uday Chandrakant Gadkari, President of Council for Architecture has given this information when he was here at Dept of Architecture, Maulana Ajad National Institute to address a National Level Conference.

He talked about the Changes in the Architect Act 1972. To bring about radical changes in the same Act, the proposals have been sent to HRD Ministry.

Changes in the Architect syllabus –

The subjects like High Technology, Green Architecture, Affordable Housing, Energy Efficiency Building will be included in the Architect Curriculum. Besides, there is the proposal of having flexibility in the syllabus as per the Geographical conditions of the Colleges.

New Training Schedule

In the past the training was only of 6 months, but now this period has been extended to 2 years. The reason behind this extended training is to prepare the students as per the Global Demands by providing them Practical Knowledge of the Field.

Strict Procedure for giving Affiliation to new Architect Colleges

There are 417 Architecture Institutes in the Country this time. There were the requests from 106 Colleges for the Affiliation. Out of these colleges 56 Colleges get recognition.

Subjects Which the students of Architecture 1st to cover ?

Now the council is strict over the issue of granting affiliation for promoting only quality education. Besides the Infrastructure, the good faculty are the main consideration for giving recognition.

This is itself a course, a vast course. That’s why, students who have taken admission to this course must know about 1st year’s course.

Whether this course is very difficult ?

Here, interest is the main thing. No doubt, this is a technical course with a huge syllabus. Around 25% students in the 3rd year drop it out. However, students with passion, love for Architecture art enjoy it.

    My question is do we have to complete 5 years then we have to undergo 2 years training or we have go for training in our 4th year?I am a 3rd year student could you please explain how long n what is the time period for completion of B.Arch Degree.
