About Sacha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s Conviction 

Gurmeet Ram Rahim, Sacha Sauda Dera Chief got 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment in the Dera Sadhvi Rape case. Besides he was fined for Rs 60,000. CBI Court Judge Justice Jagdeep Singh pronounced this sentence and quantum of the punishment. The venue of awarding the sentence was Rohtak Prison.

Now Labour Day is on Vishwakarma Day in Haryana

Labour Day in Haryana will now be on Vishwakarma Day every year. This year Vishwakarma Day will fall on 20th of October 2017. Therefore instead of celebrating Labour Day on 1st of May ( International Labour Day). it shall be celebrated on Oct 20 this year to mark respect to Indian Tradition and culture.

First Post Office Passport Centre is in Karnal –

Full Name of the Centre is – Post Office Passport Seva Kendras ( POPSK). CM Khattar inaugurated it. Another two Centres to come up at Hisar and Faridabad.

Former Vice Chancellor of the GJU Mr KL Johar has written Two books named Relevance of Subhash Chandra Bose Today and Ajit Singh Rediscovered An Exiled Revolutionary. The books were released by Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki.

Ambala Not Part of Panchkula Police Commissionerate –

The Haryana Govt has separated Ambala from Panchkula Police Commissionerate . The Govt has taken this decision in Public Interest. The Commissionerate had come in to existence on August 9, 2011.

Charkhi Dadri has become the 22nd District of Haryana.

The Chief Minister ML Khattar made this announcement at a Vikas rally at Charkhi Dadri on 18th of Sept 2016. Before that  Charkhi Dadri was the part of Bhiwani that came in to exixtence on Dec 22nd 1972. This New District shall involve Dadri and Badhra Assembly segments as parts of it. Now Haryana Cabinet has also cleared the Bill. CM has also laid stones of Rs 150 crore worth Projects.

New Name for Mewat and Gurgaon

Mewat is now officially and unofficially known as Nuh after Gurgaon got new name Gurugram.

Former Governor Dr AR Kidwai died at the age of 96 – ( 1920 – 24th Aug 2016)

He was the Governor of Haryana from July 7, 2004 to July 27, 2009. Before that he had also served as the Governor of Bihar and West Bengal.

Sulphur Plant at Panipat –

Union Minister for Chemical and Fertilizers laid stone for bentonite sulphur plant at National Fertilizers Ltd at Panipat on 8th of Sept 2016. He also inaugurated first Kisan Suvidha Kendra of the state at NFL.The production of sulfur shall be around 25,000 metric tonne per annum.

First Transgenic Calf –

National Dairy Research Institute ( NDRI ), Karnal is all set to produce first Transgenic Calf. According to Dr AK Srivastava,  the Director, NDRI this experiment would be a breakthrough in the dairy and the pharmaceutical sectors. The calf shall be delivered by surrogate buffalo.

Youngest Everest Climber of Haryana – Second in India

Narendra Yadav, a native of Rewari ( Nehrugarh) has become the youngest mountaineer of the state and the second youngest in India. He was the member of SSC Everest Expedition 2016, Spring Team. He scaled 8,848 metre peak of Mount Everest.

It is note-worthy that he is the third mountaineer from Rewari District, the two others being Santosh, the woman in the world to climb Mt Everest two times once in 1992 and second in 1993 and Sunita who did this feat in 2011.

BJP Clinched two Rajya Sabha Seats in Haryana

BJP’s Candidate Ch Virender Singh and ZEE Media Chairman Mr Subhash Chandra, supported by the BJP won seats for Rajya Sabha. So both the seats went to the BJP. Quite interestingly Fourteen votes of the Congress were  invalid. Later the Congress approached the Election Commission of India for Re-poll.
