In what can be called a significant move, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has ordered a Forensic Probe of the data in hard discs of computers in the possession of Haryana Staff Selection Commission ( HSSC ) in the famous JBT Selection Case.

Year 2015 Information for the recruitment –
Justice Deepak Sibal passed this order working on a no of petitions filed by Naresh Kumar and others against Haryana and other respondents for quashing the Selection of JBT Teachers on August 15, 2015.
The Petitioners sought Two marks’ for the Post Graduate Qualification in the initial result. It was uploaded on the Commission’s Official Website last year on 6th of Sept.
Then the Result had to be revised following the Representations of the concerned party. The commission adopted to the balanced attitude by playing trick on the candidates.
On one hand the candidates were given 2 Marks for the PG Qualification on the other hand deducted 2 marks from the Interview Score which was given earlier. In that way it caused no effect on the JBT Result.
After checking the affidavits properly, Justice Sibal said there was no proper explanation regarding the change in the Result even after the revision of the result after giving 2 more marks.
He further asserted that the court couldn’t check the computer record itself and seeing the career of 40,000 applicants, it would be in the fitness of the things that the HSSC Computer Hard discs be checked from Central Forensic Science Laboratory Chandigarh.
It is note-worthy that the fate of thousands of JBT Applicants of is hanging fire due to this decision of Haryana Govt. The Govt had quashed this Recruitment saying that it was being done using unfair means. As a result the applicants had to go to the High Court against this decision.
