Indira Gandhi National Open University set up in 1985 is a People’s University came in to being for a very special purpose that is to provide Education Opportunity to those couldn’t pursue it regularly. There are numerous candidates across the country who due to the adverse conditions of the family were deprived of good education.
IGNOU offered them courses in Correspondence Mode and became India’s first and largest university to offer courses to the in-job candidates. There are the myriad of the courses such as BA, .B.Sc, B.Com., Journalism, B.Ed, Translation courses etc.
Now viewing the increasing demand of the no of the new courses the University has launched new courses for the benefit of the no of the students. These new courses are –
- Translation Studies in MA,
- Certificate Course In French Language
- Graduate Diploma in Applied Statistics
- Certificate Programme in Professional Development for the Primary Teachers
There were a great demand of these courses. The courses would be available from July. The first course is related with Studies in Translation. The second one is regarding the basic knowledge of French Language. There is a big demand of the foreign language these days.
The third one is a diploma in statistics and can be helpful in getting jobs where statistics plays a major role. The fourth one is about creating professionalism among the Teachers expected to be teaching in primary classes.
IGNOU Launches Online Admission System
Besides these courses, IGNOU has updated itself for the new session. Now the students would be able to take Online Admission sitting at home and they will receive the information regarding the Admission through SMSes and other sources.
Now they will not have to go to the various study centres of the University. This new system was launched by the in-charge Vice Chancellor of the University. This facility will be attached to the admission to various 148 academic programmes.
The concluding dates for the certificate courses is June 15 whereas with the late fee it is June 30 ( Late fee is Rs 300/-).
For the PG Programmes it is August 17 and with the late fee of Rs 300/- it is 31st of August.
