Rajasthan Govt bans new admissions to HJUJ

By a peculiar order of the Cabinet Sub-committee the Rajasthan Govt has today asked the Haridev Joshi University of Journalism and Mass Communication not to give fresh admissions to the students for the 2015-16 session. The letter carrying this information addressed to the VC HJUJ was sent by the Joint Secretary of Higher Education.

The University came in to existence in 2012 in the Regime of the Congress Govt when Mr Ashok Gahlot was the CM. Immediately after taking oath in 2013 after the BJP made the govt in the state, the CM Mrs Vasundhra Raje announced a Sub Committee to review the decisions taken by the Gahlot Govt. The issue of this university also came under the lens of this review committee.

This decision may play with the career of the students. There are thousand of the students who wish to take admission to the journalism course offered by HJUJ.

The Varsity VC has termed the decision as unfortunate as the process of admission had begun just 36 days ago.

The educationists are of the opinion that the education must be spared from politics. The education related issues must be tackled at the priority basis as they are linked with the career of the students.
