The Himachal Pradesh Govt is going to start the Recruitment Process for 600 Posts of Junior Basic Teachers ( JBTs) to work in various Primary Schools in the state. The decision to recruit the teachers is taken in the wake of vacant posts in various govt schools. The Selection Process shall begin from 20th of July 2016. But some JBT aspirants have come out in protest of the upcoming JBT Recruitment. They are against the New Merit System that shall be prepared on the basis of Marks in HP TET. But they have requested to the Govt to fill the 50% seats on the basis of JBT Batches.
It is interesting that every year thousands of candidates complete JBT Course from various colleges. This year too the examination for JBT Final Year is to start soon. They have also requested to involve the candidates of the current JBT course in the recruitment process. It is note-worthy that the JBT Final Exams will end in August and the result will be declared later.

For short-listing the candidates, the govt may conduct the Screening Test. The Compete Selection Procedure shall be out on 20th of July.

A group of JBT Teachers led by its President Mr Rakesh Sharma had met the CM Mr Virbhadra Singh. They requested to him to get the merit list prepared as per the Batch-wise.
The apprised the CM of the fact that by 2006-2008 the recruitment of the JBT was done on the basis of requirement at the District level. But in 2012, there was the amendment in the Rules of R&P and JBT TET was made the criteria for preparing the merit list.
