MHRD has decided that there shall be no Two-Year B.Ed course from the next year. Now the aspirants will have the choice to do BA B.Ed/ B.Sc B.Ed / B.Com B.Ed. There is also the possibility that 2019 year can be announced as Zero Year. It means there shall be no admission to B.Ed Course.

At present colleges are running 2 year BE.d Course and 3 year B.Ed/ M.Ed joint course. It is interesting to know that there is no college in Indore that runs B.Com/ BA/ B.Sc B.Ed. Now from the next year, these colleges will be active. Candidates will be able to take admission to such colleges after 10+2.

NCTE had launched BA/ B.Com/ B.Sc B.Ed course three years. However, 49 colleges affiliated to DAV organization were using the old pattern. These institutes have 5,000 seats of B.Ed.

Now the B.Ed aspirants will be able to choose Teaching Specialization after 10+2. This four year course will comprise the whole syllabus of Traditional Graduation and B.Ed.

Main Benefit of this rule –

This new rule will end the crisis vacant seats. It is note-worthy that during the two-year course B.Ed, around 46% seats remained vacant. According to some Educationist, there shall be a great increase in the no. of students after this decision. Now students will not have to think about graduation after 10+2. This process may cause possibility of long waiting.

Besides this decision, the MHRD has taken more decisions to enhance the quality of education. The students have welcomed this decision. It will save them one year in doing B.Ed. They may learn deeply about the profession. Students will also be beneficial when their teachers are more specialist.

Teaching has become the increasingly more interested profession among the youngsters, good salary being one of the main reasons.
