Definition – An Interjection is a word which expresses some emotion or sudden feeling (disgust, enthusiasm, sorrow, joys, surprise etc.) of the speaker.
इंटेरजेक्शन ( विस्मयादिबोधक ) एक ऐसा शब्द होता है जो किसी अचानक भावना को प्रकट करता है। यह भावना डर, ख़ुशी, गम, हैरानी इत्यादि की हो सकती है।
Important Points regarding Interjections –
Interjection doesn’t form a part of a sentence.
इंटेरजेक्शन किसी वाक्य का हिस्सा नहीं होता।
Immediately after the Interjection, we usually use Exclamatory Mark ( ! )
इंटेरजेक्शन के तुरंत बाद हम विस्मयादिबोधक चिन्ह इस्तेमाल करते हैं।
The word after Interjection begins with the capital letter.
इंटेरजेक्शन के बाद आने वाला शब्द बड़े अक्षर के साथ शुरू होता है।
Some important Interjections are – Alas, Hurrah, Bravo, Ah, Oh, Hush, What, How, Amen, Well done, God gracious, Shame, Hello etc.

Use of Interjections –
Alas – ( To express sorrow / दुःख प्रकट करने के लिए/ । ) – Alas! She has failed again.
Hello – ( To begin a telephonic talk or to respond to greeting / टेलीफोन पर वार्ता या किसी के ग्रीटिंग का जवाब देने के लिए ) – Hello ! Joseph speaking or Hello ! How are you ?
Bravo – ( To express approval or to appreciate/ प्रशंसा व्यक्त लिए ) – Bravo ! You have done wonder, my boys.
Ah – ( To express grief or repentance / दुःख या पछतावा दिखाने के लिए ) – Ah ! He has destroyed himself.
Oh – ( To show unpleasant surprise/नाखुशवार हैरानी प्रकट करने के लिए ) – Oh ! He is a liar.
Hush – ( To make somebody quiet / किसी को चुप करवाने के लिए) – Hush ! The doctor is treating the patient.
What – ( To express surprise / हैरानी प्रकट करने के लिए ) – What a beautiful flower it is !
How – ( To express surprise / हैरानी प्रकट करने के लिए ) – How stupid you are !
Hurrah – ( To express sudden joy / अचानक ख़ुशी व्यक्त करने के लिए ) – Hurrah ! We have won the match.
