                                                  Children’s Day –  A Report

Children’s Day reminds us the birth of Pt Nehru, country’s first Prime Minister. This day is celebrated in various ways in various educational institutions of the country. In this way, children pay homage to their Chacha. This Monday, our school also celebrated Children’s Day. The students from 1st to 5th classes participated in the programme. The teachers took the students in the school auditorium.

This auditorium was decorated like a bride by the children themselves. The Chief Guest was the former Principal of some local school. The Principal and staff welcomed him with bouquet. The parents of the children were also present. The Programme began at 10 a.m. with Saraswati vandana with little children.

Then the chief guest gave a short speech on the occasion. He told the students about Pt Nehru and his love for the children. Nehru loved not only the children of India but of other countries as well. Even he told about the letter Smt. Indira Gandhi had written to her father. Then our Principal took the stage and threw light on the life of our first Prime Minister.

He didn’t take much time and allowed the students to present programmes which they had been preparing for many days. These very young children presented dance, skits and songs. Even some students delivered speeches on Pt Nehru. It looked very nice. The audience cheered the young performers with clapping.

It took around 2 hours to end the programme. In the end, the chief guest gave away the prizes to the young winners. The Programme ended with National Anthem. Everybody enjoyed the programme a lot. There was also the arrangement of tea and biscuits for the guests. Teachers distributed Frooti and Chocolates among all the students.

In a way, these young children made the day very memorable for all who were present.
